The Role : This is a permanent, full time role, reporting into our ANZ H&S Manager, (based in Sydney), whilst it is a Monday to Friday role, the successful applicant must be flexible to support our team if there is an incident, or training is required.
To put it simply : This is your chance to demonstrate your Health & Safety expertise and skills. We are looking for a coordinator who leads by example and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the work done.
They must be able to build strong, successful relationships across the business as this position will be the first port of call for H&S administrative requirements, so you will be expected to use your initiative, be self-motivated and take ownership of your duties.
Key Accountabilities : Support and contribute to implementation of activities to prevent workplace fatality, injury disease and ill health.
Influence and monitor the prompt reporting of hazards and incidents, reviewing reports to ensure they are detailed, accurate and involve evidence of corrective action.
Actively engage and drive the H&S Committee.Support management in raising staff awareness of H&S responsibilities including compliance with H&S workplace policies and procedures.
Support and encourage workplace activities in fostering a positive H&S culture.Coordinate, undertake and record hazard identification, inspections, Job Safety Analyses, alongside managers.
Support managers in the development of and documentation of procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments (RAs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
Coordinate and participate in regular Emergency Evacuation exercises, review performance and identify areas for improvement.
Conduct / participate in investigations into workplace incidents (as appropriate), develop reports and monitor corrective actions.
Maintain appropriate H&S records eg accident, hazard, risk, permits, and corrective action registers and training records.
Coordinate annual review of all site hazards by H&S Committee.Monitor, maintain and report on H&S KPIs.Prepare and circulate monthly H&S Report.
Formulate Annual Safety Plan in conjunction with H&S Manager ANZ, General Manager (GM) NZ and H&S Committee.Analyse accidents / incident trends and introduce appropriate preventative measures.
Ensure contractor management system is maintained, inductions are being conducted and appropriate to site.Liaise with the HR BP re the management of injuries, return to work and arrangements for pre / post-employment medicals.
Liaise with relevant authorities regarding site H&S.Learning and Development (L&D)Develop and conduct specific H&S training, as appropriate.
Ensure appropriate levels of trained staff eg first aid and fire wardensEnsure training is organised in a timely manner for first aiders and fire wardens, confined spaces, working at heights and forklift licences and recorded appropriately.
Liaise with ANZ Training Coordinator on Alchemy training.In liaison with HRBP, coordinate external training as and when required within budget.
Maintain employee training database and records General AdministrationAssist with general administration tasks as appropriate.
Critical Competencies : H&S work experience for a minimum 1 year or equivalent H&S qualification.Experience in an FMCG environment would be advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills.IT Skills proficient in MS Office : Word, Excel and PowerPoint intermediate level. Outlook basic.
Analytical and numeracy skills appropriate to role.Verbal and written communication skills appropriate to role.Meticulous attention to detail.
Strong problem solving abilities.Effective Communication eg keeping Management and relevant parties’ aware and seeking advice and assistance when required.
