This is a casual position, with no fixed hours. You will be covering staff while they are on leave and will work morning or afternoon shifts.
You will be providing personal care within an aged care setting and should be keen, motivated to learn and have an empathy for older people.
You will be supporting the lives of those living in hospital residential care by providing high quality care to them.
Experience working with people requiring hospital level care would be an advantage.
Applicants who hold the National Certificate in Community Support Services, Foundation Skills or Core Competencies Level 3, or the Dementia Limited Credit Programme would have an advantage.
It is expected that careworkers without a formal qualification will undertake study towards this while working at St Andrews and we will help you with this.
Careworker Pay rate starts at $20.50 up to $25.50 depending on whether applicant holds relevant qualification.
An Enliven home, St Andrews has 78 residents who are supported at hospital, rest home and dementia level of care. It’s a home integral to the community and 8 Presbyterian Support Otago Enliven homes have 4 year certification.
