Each summer The Races hires 6 teams of 5 people to travel around New Zealand supporting various events and racing clubs with event infrastructure (marquees etc), theming and entertainment programmes for our two franchises -
Christmas at the Races and Interislander Summer Festival.We are seeking hard working people for our regional teams for up to three months (flexible start between November to March) to help with the set-
setup of event infrastructure (marquees, table and chairs, picket fencing, theming); and assisting with the execution of entertainment programmes on race days.
If you don't mind a bit of hard physical work putting up and theming marquees / clubrooms and know how to make a room look pretty this is the job for you.
We are looking for a mix of physically fit and creative individuals as this is not a role for the faint hearted. You will need to be physically strong to cope with the heavy manual lifting required in this role especially when erecting marquees and creative when theming a racecourse inside and out from gate to track.
We pay, transport and house you, give you appropriate gear to work in and pay a food allowance. In return we need you to have exceptional attention to detail, be friendly, able to talk to anyone, creative, self-
reliant, have a sense of humour and be loyal to your team because sometimes it's just hard, hot or wet work. An interest in the racing industry is a bonus!We are seeking team members in Auckland / Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and DunedinIt is essential you have your driver's licence, a class 2 licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
You must be willing to work throughout the holiday period including weekends and public holidays and be prepared to put in some long days and nights.
