The opportunity

This established production facility based in Wanganui has a dominant footprint within New Zealand and is now extending into Australia, South East Asia and UAE.

Their products are innovative, safe, robust and of the highest quality and they continually look to do things better. A realignment in the business has created the opportunity for a Business Development Manager to be a part of their exciting growth.

The role

As the Business Development Manager, not only will you be looking after existing accounts, but you will actively develop new business sales channels by seeking opportunities to expand the company’s business presence and market share.

You will be responsible for managing sales internationally, while there will also be an expectation of overseas travel as you remain up to date with new products and industry trends.

Confident and driven, you need to be someone that can jump on opportunities when you see them and deliver on those opportunities.

You will be working closely with the Sales Manager who is there to guide and support you in this role. You will need to be an excellent communicator who can work network with potential clients in a professional manner while maintaining the company’s high standards.

This role involves international travel (mostly to South East Asia and the UAE)

Skills and experience

You will be a customer focused, be able to nurture current accounts and build new relationships within the market. You will be an all-

round performer understanding that dedication and drive are required to be successful in this role. A natural Sales Person, you will have the ability to network with professionals in the field and present at different levels.

You will also have experience in managing a complex sales process and creation of sales proposals, preparation of tender documents and responding to relevant tender requests (RFP’s, RFQ’s, RFI’s).

You will be confident, driven and persuasive, and have the capability to communicate with the market at a number of different levels.

You will be a team player able to have input into the ongoing overall success and positive environment of the business.
