  • About the project

    The City Rail Link (CRL) is a game-changer for Auckland. It’s NZ’s largest government funded transport infrastructure project ever and we are committed to boosting economic activity by providing jobs to Aucklanders in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    We are actively recruiting roles for our construction sites to commence after COVID-19 alert Level 4 and 3 have been lifted.

    As part of the City Rail Link project, the existing Mt Eden train station will be enlarged and redeveloped to incorporate a modern new station building with elevated views of Mungawhau and a platform for the new CRL line.

    The station will also remain a stop for the existing Western Line services making it a busy rail junction. It will play an integral part in aiding CRL’s capacity to carry up to 54,000 passengers an hour at peak times.

    About the role

    The Utilities Site Engineer is responsible for the providing on site monitoring of all utility related works to ensure quality, health and safety and environmental aspects are completed to the required specification and management plans.

    They shall also monitor financial elements such as procurement and deliveries, productivity targets, and subcontractor attendance.

    Due to the current stage of the project, the role, will be less utility related and more to do with the temporary works installation at Mount Eden. This inclides

  • Tunnelling;
  • Drilling & Blasting; and Small Precast and Concrete Construction
  • Key responsibilities include :

  • Provide input on early and ongoing procurement of all Utilities construction materials, equipment and subcontractors and then manage this throughout the delivery of the project
  • Manage and supervise sub-contractors on site
  • Assist the Project Engineer in the implementation of CEP, Quality Plans and Safety Plans
  • Assist the Project Engineer in compiling and providing overall progress reports and other reports related to schedule and cost as required by the General Construction Manager
  • About You :

  • Hold a tertiary qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Experience in Utility Relocations. Desirable to have experience in Auckland
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise duties
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety initiatives
  • All successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test & medical.
