Job Description Summary
Lonza NZ is looking to hire a Formulation Scientist based in New Plymouth due to expansion.
What can you expect from this role?
Under the general direction of the Laboratory Manager, you will develop new agriculture and wood formulation as required to achieve company goals.
You will present research data for Data Reviews, presentations, reports and ensures all information is appropriately recorded in data bases and electronic file folders.
You will assess formulations and raw materials via CIPAC methods for global registration, robustness, field performance and quality, on top of preparing analytical and field trials samples.
Apart from formulation development, you will participate in process development. Working collaboratively with Manufacturing to optimize the method of production, from the lab, through pilot plant scale up to production launch.
Also, introducing new products to the plant and conducts training sessions with production stuff on new products and raw materials.
You will assist the plant with formulation based manufacturing issues and responsible for entering full formulations details and manufacturing procedure into production system (currently Zelam UI).
In addition, you hold some shared responsibilities for maintenance of the laboratory and equipment, as well as purchasing, documentation, inspections, cleaning, calibration, testing and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
You will also attend and participate in Health and Safety meetings and actively works towards improvement of Environment, Health and Safety to help archive company goals.
What will you need to be successful?
Ideally, you will have 5 years of work experience in formulation or similar capacity, with good understanding in the development of common formulation types, the use and theory of standard laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
You are degree qualified in Science disciplines, equipped with understanding of the process in developing a formulation in the lab to producing it in the plant.
