The RoleWe are currently looking for a talented Lead Financial Analyst to lead the provision of financial and economic support to other departments of Auckland Transport.
The Funding and Analysis team assists with the development of business cases for capital and operational projects, carries out peer reviews and efficiency reviews, develops financial models, and investigates ways of maximising Auckland Transport's funding.
This role will be directly accountable for providing technical leadership in relation to financial, economic, funding and policy advice to the EGM Finance, other departments of AT and to the ELT and Board.
The successful incumbent will lead in the development of robust funding / financial models for major projects or programmes of work and be responsible for carrying out financial modelling of key strategic procurement activities to support decision-
making.Skills and ExpertiseTo be effective in this position you will be adept in scenario modelling or modelling of business unit drivers and will have the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to this you will also have : Minimum of 7 years' experience in a relevant public or private sector role, providing economic, finance and policy advice.
Thorough understanding of capital and operating budgeting in a large, complex organisation.Good understanding and knowledge of the business case approach to project development, cost benefit analysis, project prioritisation, local government legislation, council practices and constraints and Transport Agency and Auckland Council funding processes and procedures.
Understanding of statutory and policy framework for the planning and funding of transport in New Zealand i.e. LTMA, RMA, LGAHighly developed interpersonal and relationship skillsHigh level of problem-
