    The role

    Training and developing the personal and technical skills of field and corporate staff is the key component of this role.

    With the opportunity to work from any Northpower base, you will be travelling across the North Island on a rotational roster to provide expert technical advice and support.

    Flexibility to work away on a regular basis is important as you can be based at any of the depots for up to one week at a time.

    Strong field experience in hands-on overhead work will ensure that you are able to demonstrate, coach and train in industry best practice, tooling and methodology.

    This role could suit a senior Overhead Practitioner or Foreman who has a strong track record in safety, training and mentoring staff.

    If you are self-motivated and resilient, with strong people skills this is a fantastic role to build your career and utilise your knowledge.

    You will feel comfortable working across all levels of the company and understand the importance of forming and building trustworthy relationships.

    Duties

  • Provide technical support and process advice across all staffing and stakeholder levels
  • Engage, coach and mentor field staff
  • Assess trade tools / equipment to workplace and compliance standards
  • Develop, implement and audit work methodologies and processes to ensure best practise across the company
  • Develop, review and deliver training material as appropriate
  • Assess competencies and advise on career / skill development opportunities for field staff
  • Maintain company documentation i.e. revised methodology
  • Skills and experience

  • Overhead field experience is a must with preference toward a Level 5 Glove & Barrier certificate
  • A background in training or coaching is an advantage
  • Full NZ Class 1 drivers' licence
  • Current EWRB practising licence (preferred)
  • Work Place / Connexis registered Assessor (preferred)
  • Level 3 Adult Education (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite / Microsoft Project (advantage)
