Tauranga City Council is investing $4.6 billion in our city's future over the next ten years and the Spaces & Places team are responsible for planning all the fun stuff - the community facilities, parks and urban spaces that makes this city liveable and loveable.
As our city grows and changes rapidly, we have an ambitious programme of investment in new spaces and places and the re-imagining and re-purposing of existing ones.
To help us do this we are bringing the Walkways operation inhouse, this means we are looking for people to fill a number of new vacancies.

The Walkways Team will assist Tauranga to have great spaces, places and environments by being responsible for public walkways and shared open spaces and facilities and promoting active living.
Tauranga City has various walkways ranging from Mauao to Papamoa, across the City CBD to the suburbs leading all the way to McLaren Falls Park.
Our Parks Team has an opportunity for a number of full-time positions responsible for Walkways structures and maintenance, these roles will join our Spaces & Places Activity.
The main focus of the role is to maintain the walking tracks and undertake day to day operations, maintenance and public relations for all things walkways across the city.
To be successful in this position, we are looking for a person with the following knowledge, skills and experience :
Day to day activities include : blowing the tracks, pruning and spraying, digging out and maintaining culverts and water tables, making sure surfaces are kept to a good standard, where required constructing and maintaining all structures and landscaping and responding to any Health & Safety issues that arise.
