Are you an explorer of all things electrical? Do you spend your spare time building bots, programming, building cars? Not only will you gain a qualification in Electrical Engineering, working in a global organisation will expand the career opportunities available to you further on down the track.
Being an Electrical Apprentice at our Edendale site means you'll help with and be trained in providing electrical servicing, fault finding and preventative maintenance to the sites highly automated plant and equipment.
You’ll be using advanced systems and gaining exposure to some of the industry's most modern technology. On site you’ll be working from Monday to Friday initially and will eventually progress into our shift pattern.
The theory-based work will be spread across the duration of your apprenticeship so that it aligns to the practical work you’ll be involved in.
What you’ll bring and develop
We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about the electrical trade and show’s a genuine interest in the technical and creative parts of the work you get to be a part of each day.
The perfect fit will be someone who enjoys working in a team, shows initiative, can think on their feet when a problem pops up and someone who generally brings a co-operative attitude to everything they do.
Your confidence to speak up and ask questions matched with your strong work ethic will continue to boost you through your learning journey with us.
Any and all experience in work-related fields, voluntary or school experience and involvement in community groups will be a big advantage when you apply those learnings to your apprenticeship.
Other key skills and experience include :
Achieved or in the process of attaining minimum of NCEA Level 2 Maths and Physics or NZQA Level 3 Certificate in a relevant field
Enjoys problem solving, a quick learner who adapts to change easily
Strong mechanical aptitude
A minimum restricted driver’s license is required with a view to secure your full
Completion of a pre-trade course in a related subject is desired but not essential
Overall, it’s your positive attitude and your ambition to drive your own career that will set you apart!
