The purpose of your role :
The Balance Sheet Manager will be involved in strategic projects, policy and procedure maintenance and trading activities across the bank.
You'll be tasked with managing the Balance Sheet with respect to Liquidity / Funding, Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange Risk.
You'll be doing :
Management of balance sheet interest rate risk and liquidity - including daily cash flow management & forecasting
Maintain and continually develop automated liquidity reports and treasury submissions for the Bank and other authorities
Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of treasury related submissions to the Reserve Bank
Preparing and presenting treasury reports for various committees
Ensure compliance of the treasury activities to the relevant policies and provide regular updates to the management
Responsible for writing, reviewing, development and enhancement of the treasury related policies (Liquidity, FTP, Funding and other banking book management policies)
To thrive in this role you'll have :
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in Banking
Sound understanding of balance sheet structure and associated risks
Knowledge of key banking regulations related to treasury (both local and offshore)
Be logical, analytical and have great problem solving skills
Great interpersonal and collaboration skills
Ability to multi task, manage priorities and be deadline driven
Be organised, innovative and have a high level of initiative
Trading experience and management of risk exposures will be an advantage
NZ local debt issuance experience preferred
Relevant tertiary qualification
Be a New Zealand Resident
