At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.
We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary.
We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

About our group and team
In Te Pae Aronui our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors and communities to provide support, expertise and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential.
We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people.
The Special Projects team within Te Pae Aronui is responsible for supporting schools and kura to implement a range of programmes and services that support student well-being such as the Ka Ora, Ka Ako Healthy School Lunches programme and Ikura Manaakitia te whare tangata
Period products in schools initiatives.

The Senior AdviserTe Ao Māori, Special Projects, is responsible for supporting schools and kura to implement a range of programmes and services that support student well-being such as the Ka Ora, Ka Ako healthy school lunches and Ikura Manaakitia te whare tangata Period products programme in schools.
The Senior Advisor Te Ao Māori will also support the execution of the Special Projects Te Ao Māori workstream initiatives as well as be a key person in the success of the social procurement, engagement and partnership Ka Ora, Ka Ako Iwi and Hapū Model.
This role works closely with other Special Projects team members, including others in the Te Ao Māori workstream.
Mōhou ake About you
You will have experience working in a government agency and an understanding of effective assurance and evaluation practices.
Experience in engaging with iwi and hapū on work related matters and experience of kaupapa Māori, matauranga Māori and total immersion kura settings is highly desirable.
