What you will do

You will provide support services, including administration, coordination and management of resources used to support course staff and trainees.

There will be a host of responsibilities in this varied and busy environment.

What we need

To be considered for this role you will possess strong service delivery skills with a customer focus, have the ability to liaise with a wide range of people, work unsupervised, show initiative and work in a team environment, with a proven ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent planning and organisational skills, good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks and meet timeframes as well as effectively manage changing priorities.

You will also be proficient with windows based operating systems and have intermediate skills in MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage but not essential.

The Youth Development Unit (YDU), which is an initiative created as part of the Government Fresh Start youth policy, provides youth training programmes to young New Zealander's under an arrangement with several other Government agencies.

The Youth Development Unit provides young people (13 - 25 years) with a range of comprehensive programmes designed to enable course participants to progress into job placement, trade training, further education and re-

engagement in local communities.

Please note : Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows :

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years , OR
  • is a citizen of, and / or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years : either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA);
  • and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

    If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
