In line with our new strategic direction Corrections is looking for a senior health practitioner to lead the design of future health services at Corrections.
This is a well-established, 24 / 7, nurse led service spanning 17 prisons across New Zealand. Our health teams work in a multidisciplinary manner, on the frontline, managing a broad range of complex health needs, supporting the people in our care to progress through their sentence as safely and appropriately as possible.
The Associate Deputy Chief Executive Health positon has been established to lead the design and development of the health service plan and long term workforce strategy into the future.
Reporting to the Chief Executive of Corrections you will thrive in this future focused organisation, committed to finding new ways of doing things particularly as they result in better outcomes for Maori and their whanau.
You will be curious, prepared to look, listen and learn before engaging with staff in the potential design of the future state.
You will take time to understand the custodial nature of Corrections and then influence how complementary health and security services are delivered in this environment.
You'll have strong networks across the health system and enjoy opportunities to think outside the status quo' whilst maintaining the highest degree of governance and assurance.
Success in this position will look like : An improvement in the health outcomes of people in our care A confident and competent national health workforce Identification and implementation of measures and assurance frameworks A workforce strategy that works in cooperation with the wider health sector including the Ministry of Health Identification of options for the future delivery of health service.
Ideally, we are seeking someone who has : Demonstrated and successful experience at a senior level, ideally with experience in the design and delivery of health services Proven clinical health knowledge and experience Proven experiencing in leading organisational change in complex settings Excellent relationship management skills at a system level Can operate effectively in a Maori cultural setting Analytical and problem solving skills using and interpreting complex information Demonstrated ability to act in a collaborative manner, and contribute to the Executive Leadership team as required.
