What we do

Our Child, Adolescent & Family MentalHealth Service North team are a specialist mental health service based atHillmorton Hospital that provides assessment and treatment of young people upto 18 years of age (older if still at High School) who present with moderate tosevere mental health problems, and their whanau.

We currently have a permanent full-timeopportunity working 40hrs per week for a NZ Registered Psychologist with a PostGraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or Child and Family Psychology and aclear passion for young people and their families.

This role will see youworking Monday Friday 8.30am 5.00pm. Some travel may be required forOutreach clinics.

This is challenging and demanding workwithin a supportive team. The clinicians on the team have a range of skills andareas of clinical expertise who are committed and work hard for young peopleliving in both the North of Christchurch and Canterbury including Rangiora.

The Role : Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for :

  • Providingcomprehensive clinical assessment, psychometric testing, and therapeuticinterventions individually or in groups as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • Developingand regularly reviewing a job plan and caseload with the Clinical Manager;
  • Workingcollaboratively with young people, family / whanau, community and statutoryorganisations.
  • Your skills will include :

  • Workingas a Psychologist and in a generic case management model, you’ll need greatorganisation and excellent time management to keep up with this exciting clientgroup;
  • Theability to effectively communicate and build relationships with consumers ofthe service and family / whanau;
  • Theability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team;
  • NZRegistration as a Psychologist with a Post Graduate Diploma in ClinicalPsychology or Child and Family Psychology is essential;
  • Experiencein a mental health setting is highly desirable;
  • As some travel may berequired, a NZ drivers licence is essential.
