About the opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager Governance, Culture and Customer the Manager People and Safety is a key member of the management team T the ORC.
With four direct reports, and a team of six you will be responsible for the development and execution of innovative, professional and strategic HR and safety initiatives.
The successful candidate will enable a values-driven, outcomes focussed, organisational culture supporting the ORC Leadership Team by providing best practice advice on HR and safety.
Enhancing performance by leading, coaching and developing the People and Safety team to ensure the strategic goals of ORC are met
Develop and lead the implementation of workable people and safety strategies that support the overall ORC goals and values
Provide advice to the Leadership team and managers across the organisation to create and nurture a high performing workforce and ensure people-related policies and procedures are best practice
Drive a safety culture, where health, safety and wellbeing is at the forefront of the organsiation.
Have accountability for the more generalist responsibilities of recruitment, performance management, leadership training and development, compliance and employment relations
Lead and guide managers on all employee relations and industrial relations matters; minimising disruption and finding workable and commercially sensible solutions
Lead and nurture a culture of engagement and continuous improvement across ORC; leading effective policy and procedure development and delivering on business objectives
Build the capability of ORC leadership through the implementation of the People and Safety 101’ series, an internal leadership programme
Champion, support, implement and adhere to H&S policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant HR qualification and will be able to demonstrate your capability in developing and implementing appropriate practices and policies which support the running of an organisation in alignment with its culture.
Taking a hands-on approach you encourage continuous improvement and have proven experience influencing and coaching others.
Your innovative and energetic approach will be complemented by your ability to juggle multiple priorities while finding the right solution.
