    The Electricity Authority is an independent Crown entity responsible for the efficient operation and development of the New Zealand electricity market.

    As the electricity market regulator, we promote competition in, reliable supply by, and the efficient operation of, the electricity industry for the long-

    term benefit of consumers.

    In this role as a key member of the Market Design group, we are seeking an experienced professional to apply well proven capabilities in economics to challenging electricity sector issues.

    Reporting to the Manager Network Pricing, this position calls for an exceptional contributor to provide expert advice based on rigorous analysis of complex regulatory issues, to the Chief Executive, Board, advisory groups and other key stakeholders.

    The development of policy and regulation on electricity issues is an integral component of this role.

    The successful person for this role will have a degree in economics and a proven track record of regulatory / policy analysis.

    A demonstrated ability in producing high quality written advice is critical. Strong relationship management attributes are also essential.
