About the service
Te Whare Tumanako o Kia Puāwai is a 24 / 7 residential service for up to 5 Rangatahi with complex behavioural needs. Generally our Rangatahi stay for up to 12 months and are supported to transition back to whanau or other longer term care options.
Our Rangatahi engage in normal teenage activities such as schooling, sports, and whanau visits.
Our Youth Workers / TFM Practitioners provide the day to day care and support Rangatahi using the Teaching Family Model ( TFM ), an evidence-based model to inform our practice and treatment delivery.
Rangatahi are supported to develop life and social skills, essential to helping them achieve their goals.
