We’re looking for a Dairy Farm Manager for Burgess Organics Dairy Unit, one of 19 dairy farms at our Pastoral Complex in Taupo.

Burgess is one of the four organics farms in the Pastoral Complex and we have a management plan in place to ensure you will be well supported.

Knowledge of organics is not required to apply for this role. Just bring your genuine interest in learning and be open-minded to organic management principles, and we’ll help you with the rest.

This farm is a 258 ha property milking 570 cows through a 54 rotary shed with cup removers, herd home, with lucerne a big part of the farm system.

You’ll be a great fit if you have strong feeding and intensive pasture management skills as well as a commitment to health and safety and environmental management of the farm.

You’ll have good coaching / people leadership skills and good risk management / awareness. You’ll work closely with a supportive business manager to keep this farm humming by actively monitoring performance, improving production, managing the budget, and planning for day-to-day activities on-farm.

You’ll be open to farm tech as we use systems such as Allflex collars to monitor herd health. Additionally, we have specialist advisory support in our Wellington office for agronomy, environmental requirements, and animal welfare that you can draw on.

We also support and encourage our managers with professional development both with leadership and technical farm skills.

We have favourable rosters here that assure you 104 rostered days off / year and a competitive remuneration package (including life and health insurance) as well as a modern, four-bedroom home.
