About the TeamWorkday’s Adaptive Planning Cloud SRE team are looking for someone that can be trained up to be a Site Reliability Engineer, so if you are someone with 1-2 years experience in public cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure) and want to be provided with the tools and support to grow in a global software company, then this could be the right team for you.
You will be challenged with everything from infrastructure tooling, automation, build and deployment pipelines, monitoring and logging architecture, containerization and more! You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
About the Role You will support Workday Planning Cloud infrastructure, working with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Chef and Terraform.
This team participates in infrastructure automation maximising Terraform, Chef, Jenkin and Golang and executes complicated technical projects that interact with a wide variety of teams within the company.
We build and respond to production monitors; we triage, investigate, resolve and perform root cause analysis. You will get the opportunity to use your problem solving skills to analyse large distributed systems, work across Linux and windows servers and maintain operational runbooks.
As a team, we support the deployment of cloud solution software during and off regular office hours and participate in on-call monitoring response : 1 week primary, 1 week secondary rotating within the team.
Note : This role includes a rotational weekend shift. While it is not possible to be definitive, as it depends on business needs, it is spread across 3 global regional teams.

Basic Qualifications : 1+ years of DevOps, systems / infrastructure, or related operations and support experience Experience working with AWS infrastructure services and security Experience with authoring configuration management scripts and deployment tools : Jenkins, Puppet, Chef or equivalent Monitoring experience with tools such as : Splunk, Nagios, Elasticsearch, Kibana, CloudWatch, Logstash etc.
Other Qualifications : Exposure to any of the following is advantageous : Experience with at least one programming language like : Go, Python, Bash, Perl etc.
Cloud databases like AWS oracle / PostgreSQL RDS or Aurora PostgreSQL or GCP Cloud SQL is helpful Orchestration tools like Kubernetes and containerization (Docker) Source control management such as Git, GitHub Knowledge of web servers and Cloud load balancers such as Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, HA-Proxy, AWS ELB / NLB AWS Certification Effective communication of sophisticated technical concepts Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent experience.
