    Te Mana Whakamaru Tamariki Motuhake (The Independent Children's Monitor) provides oversight to ensure the agencies that look after our tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people) are doing what they need to, to enable them to reach their potential and thrive.

    The Kaiwhakahaere Raraunga Matua - Team Lead Data and Insights - is a member of the Corporate, Strategy and Insights team and leads a small group of data and insights professionals to provide analysis, insights and reporting on both the quantitative data provided by organisations with children in their care, and the qualitative data that the monitoring team collect during fieldwork.

    The team also manage regular data downloads from external agencies and package this information to support monitoring visits as well as supporting them to capture, code and analyse information from visits.

    This is an operational role and we are looking for someone who can provide expertise and leadership to the team, as well as support the delivery of the work as required.

  • Knowledge of, and genuine interest in, the care sector
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and support senior team members appropriately
  • Proven ability to understand, synthesise and make use of quantitative and qualitative data
  • Strategic without losing sight of day to day deliverables
  • A collaborative, open style, and a positive outlook
