Mahaanui Kurataiao has an exciting opportunity to join as General Manager / Kaihautū! Reporting to the board, you will be responsible for a mix of operational and strategic tasks including leadership of a focussed and dedicated team, business development and delivery of our strategic plan.

This is a rare opportunity to join an iwi owned organisation and an opportunity too good to miss. For the right candidate we are open to flexible work options - including part-time hours.

The ideal candidates will have :

  • strong people leadership and operational management skills
  • sound experience in strategic planning and delivery of strategic initiatives
  • ability to build on and foster strong relationships
  • a transformational focus
  • risk management awareness, including Health and Safety
  • sound knowledge of rūnanga structures and operations
  • financial management skills

    Mahaanui Kurataiao is a resource and environmental management advisory company owned by six Papatipu Rūnanga to assist and improve the recognition and protection of tangata whenua values within their respective takiwā (which includes the Waimakariri, Christchurch and Selwyn Districts).

    Mahaanui Kurataiao has a diverse and busy portfolio providing cultural advisory and environmental planning to a range of local authorities, government agencies and private sector clients.

    This advice is focused on mātauranga Māori, and the values and interests of the six Papatipu Rūnanga. The role of Mahaanui Kurataiao is to facilitate this input and inform the development of strategies, policies and environmental projects from a cultural perspective.
