We have an opportunity at senior or principal level for an experienced evaluator / project manager to join the Workforce & Workplace team within the Evidence & Insights branch at the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) on a 12-month fixed term basis.
About the team
The role reports to the Manager of the Workforce & Workplace team within MBIE's Evidence and Insights branch. This is a high-performing team of economic analysts, social science researchers, evaluators and data scientists.
The Workforce & Workplace team informs decisions within MBIE and across Government about workplace and employment relations issues, and what is happening in the wider labour market.
Our work is interesting, topical and informs policy.
About the role
In this role as a Principal / Senior Analyst you will lead monitoring and evaluation work associated with the Employment Relations and Employment Standards (ERES) regulatory system.
You will work closely with policy and service delivery teams to understand their evidence needs, scope out research projects, and deliver robust and timely insights.
You will also have the opportunity to draw on skills and expertise from across the team, branch and other parts of MBIE in undertaking this work.
More specifically the appointee will :
The ideal candidate will have expertise in a range of research, evaluation or analysis techniques, complemented by well-developed communication skills enabling your research to have impact.
You will be a natural relationship manager, with an ability to engage and support staff to help further strengthen understanding and awareness across MBIE.
You will also have a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement and generating new ideas and ways of doing things.
An understanding of the current employment relations regulatory framework and how it operates would be a considerable advantage.
Salary Range (depending on skills and experience) :
Senior Analyst $101K - $132K
Principal Analyst $132K - $160K
