Permanent, Auckland-based roleIntegral role providing administration supportChallenging and rewarding role, with development opportunitiesWe are looking for that special person to support the awesome Healthy Communities team.

You'll be confident and have the ability to work in a complex and ever-changing environment. Establishing relationships and maintaining them will be critical to your success in this role.

You'll also be a bit of a creative thinker in terms of problem solving and contributing to process improvement and implementation.

You may be someone with broad administrative experience who is looking to stretch their capability in new ways. You may have recently graduated, with a genuine interest in the public health and improving health equityWe would like to hear from you if you have the proven ability to provide strong administrative support across complex programmes of work whilst working under pressure in an ambiguous and dynamic environment.

You will ideally have experience working in an environment that requires a high level of discretion, sensitivity and interpersonal interaction at an executive level.

The interpersonal skills are just as critical to your skillset, and therefore you will have the ability to build key relationships across the Ministry at all levels.

The Ministry of Health is the kaitiaki of the health and disability system in New Zealand. We are responsible for providing active stewardship and leadership across the nation's health and disability system.

We ensure the system provides people with the highest levels of care, regardless of who they are or where they live.The Population Health and Prevention Directorate at the Ministry is responsible for working across sectors to achieve health equity and protect, promote and improve the health and wellbeing of people, families and communities.

Alongside the National Screening Unit, the Directorate includes our key national public health functions, emergency management, and a range of population health programmes such as oral health, child health, Pacific Health, tobacco control, and immunisation.
