The Procurement and Contracts Lead is a key position reporting directly to the CFO. Utilising your proven Government procurement skills you will continue to drive change to embed our Procurement and Contract Management Framework and will have the ultimate goal of providing a high level of customer service, quality advice and be known as a team which delivers results.

About the role :

The Procurement and Contracts Lead is responsible for leading a small team and driving change. This includes continuing to embed our Procurement and Contract Management Framework, providing robust yet pragmatic procurement advice and training our people to enable us to support the principles of government procurement.

Given that we are a smaller Government agency, you will be required to roll up your sleeves and run procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead a small team to manage the procurement pipeline and work alongside the business to ensure we get the desired outcomes from procurement activities
  • Embed our Procurement and Contract Management Framework, ensuring that the business is supported and understands why procurement is important
  • Drive continuous improvement activities that add value and innovation to the organisation's procurement approach and processes
  • Provide technical expertise on procurement activities to the business
  • Lead from the front, internally and externally
  • Develop insightful procurement and contract reporting for the business that identifies key issues, risks and opportunities.
  • Key Requirements :

  • Significant experience in government procurement, including designing and improving procurement processes, contract drafting and negotiations, spend analysis and executive level reporting
  • Ability to connect the high-level strategy and goals with the operational requirements of the business
  • Considerable experience in building, influencing and maintaining strong productive working relationships, both internally and externally with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to act with integrity and manage highly sensitive information
  • Ability to understand the outcome we are aiming to achieve and plan to ensure that we are innovative, agile and flexible in how we get there
  • Relevant professional qualifications and / or proven business experience is highly desirable.
