We seek a highly motivated scientist to undertake collaborative scientific research into past biological and environmental change, by applying automated image capture and classification techniques.
The person in this position will work with GNS Science palaeontologists and environmental change researchers, with a focus on projects that will benefit from increased through-put, or from novel insights that arise from large-scale data analysis.
You will work with a team of paleontologists, modellers and paleoclimate scientists as part of GNS's Environment and Climate Research Theme.
The position will be based at GNS Science in Wellington, New Zealand.
New Zealand's borders are currently closed to all but New Zealand citizens and permanent residents. International candidates will still be considered, however this requires specific dispensation from NZ Ministry of Immigration, and they might be required to work remotely from overseas until New Zealand's borders reopen.
The position offers an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team on paleontological data acquisition, data analysis and interpretation.
