He angitūtanga : The opportunity

The Auckland Council ICT Service Improvement team has the responsibility of managing, delivering and supporting the Service Management practices utilising best practice frameworks such as ITIL.

We have an opportunity for a Problem Management Lead to join us!

In this role, you would work with our ICT teams to adopt and improve their Problem Management approaches and ensure the documented processes are followed.

You would also facilitate the resolution of problems, as well as identifying hidden risks and improvement opportunities

Key responsibilities include :

  • Managing the operation and delivery of the Problem Management Practice, including coordinating implementation of corrective actions
  • Leading problem investigations
  • Conducting technical multi-team brainstorm sessions to determine the cause, workarounds and fixes for current problems
  • Managing identified problem actions, share cause and known errors and other lessons learned
  • Producing reporting for management and trending purposes
  • Developing materials to conduct PM training or improvement sessions
  • The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with the other Service Management practices such as Change, Knowledge and Incident, as well as working with the wider ICT Service Improvement team, developing and implementing solutions and process improvements to ICT and wider Auckland Council business.

    This role requires 5+ years of work experience, with at least 2 years being involved with Problem management.

    We will be looking for specific experience with :

  • Presenting to a wide range of audiences and seniority
  • Driving root cause resolutions
  • Delegating and empowering others successfully
  • Conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation
  • Proven resilience - able to sustain a high level of energy and positivity during times when they or the group is under extreme pressure
