About the Role

The Project Manager role is responsible for planning, organising and technically leading and controlling the completion of allocated projects.

This role ensures all contracted projects are delivered to the highest quality standard, within scope, in budget and on time.

Knowledge

  • In depth knowledge of documentation, coding and testing across several different development languages.
  • Broad and deep understanding of technical infrastructure projects and related technology dependencies.
  • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of Project Management disciplines.
  • Strong financial management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 3 years in a Project Management capacity.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and mentoring of project employees.
  • Skills

  • Proven project leadership and technical leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Ability to translate user needs into a technical solution and manage the entire lifecycle of the project from inception to close out.
  • Ability to build and lead collaborative project teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives.
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer relationship building and management skills.
  • Strong influencing and persuasive ability.
  • Ability to escalate with a solution focus.
  • Financial management, including cost estimation and budget tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to manage complex issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information across various levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Science, Engineering, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Agreement and communication of standards and processes for project delivery, including reporting requirements, relevant and appropriate for the risk profile the project.
  • Effectively communicating relevant project progress and information to customer and internal stakeholder groups, by establishing the relevant governance forums and project meetings and project reporting.
  • Preparing project budgets, attaining necessary approvals in a timely manner and monitoring project financials and the realisation of defined project benefits.

    Responsibilities

    The Project Manager is responsible for (but not limited to) :

    Ensuring all contracted projects are delivered to the highest quality standard, within scope, in budget and on time.

    Coordinating documentation, design, development and testing of enhancements and new development projects.

    Defining, planning, structuring and leading projects, tailoring project methodology to individual projects.

    Estimating, scheduling and planning resources for the allocated component of a development project.

    Controlling project schedules and ensuring that applications programs are delivered within given timeframes, meet user requirements, and are easily maintainable.

    Providing direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.

    Reporting on the progress of development modules against project timeframes, milestones and budget.

    Coordinating documentation, design, development and testing of enhancements and new development projects.
