Mō te roopu About the team

The Digital Ecosystem team is a newly formed team focused on developing and delivering on strategies to better support our extensive network of partners in the tax ecosystem.

These range from accountants to tax agents and include digital service providers offering solutions for financial, tax and payroll management.

In this role you will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of Inland Revenue while also being part of building a team that will make a positive difference to our partners, our customers and NZ Inc.

Mō te tūnga About the role

As Digital Ecosystem Strategy Lead you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the strategy for IR’s digital ecosystem.

This is an integral part of our multi-channel strategy and an essential aspect of IR’s ongoing enablement of intermediaries and digital services providers to make tax easier for our customers.

In this varied role you will be responsible for :

  • Effective environmental scanning and engagement to ensure robust understanding of the digital ecosystem drives the digital strategy.
  • Building positive relationship, goodwill and shared intent across the varied participants in the ecosystem and their representative industry bodies
  • Formulation of digital partner ecosystem strategy and alignment with other key enterprise strategies (segment, product, multi-channel).
  • Securing funding and driving planning for the execution of initiatives in the ecosystem strategy.
  • Ensuring the successful delivery and ROI of planned and executed initiatives.
  • Managing the composite risk position of the digital partner ecosystem to ensure that data sharing, and partner interdependencies do not compromise the integrity of the tax system.

    To be successful in this position you will possess the following capabilities.

  • Extensive external engagement and stakeholder management experience and understanding of the evolving digital ecosystem.
  • Ability to formulate strategic responses to support and extend IR’s digital boundaries while maintaining the integrity of the tax system.
  • Compelling forward-thinker and communicator with the ability to generate support for strategic intent and initiatives across a broad base of internal and external stakeholders
  • Have a commercial understanding of digital business models, enabling technology and strategic planning.
  • The drive to make a difference and the proven ability to deliver on complex initiatives while managing opportunity and risk trade-offs.
