Due to the ongoing success of our growing Environment team, we are currently seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Senior Hydrogeologist to play a key role in the winning and execution of projects for a wide range of industrial and government clients.
As a member of a busy hydrogeology team in Wellington, this position will see you contributing to the continued development of the hydrogeology service line in NZ, offering you an excellent variety of work and developing your career in this area.
Although there is a preference for the role to be located in Wellington, we are also open for the role to be based at our other NZ GHD office locations.
In this role you will be :
Playing a large part in winning and delivering technical programmes of work related to hydrogeology, hydro-geochemistry as part of GHD multidisciplinary teams and our high profile, national clients;
Contributing to the continued development of the hydrogeology service line in NZ as technical reviewer and recognised industry leader / expert;
Mentoring and training senior and junior staff as well as assisting other senior professionals in carrying out technical tasks;
Overseeing development of accurate investigations, completed data and calculations;
Conducting tasks in a manner which is consistent with prescribed testing, analysis, design or computation methods;
Supporting technology initiatives, including integration of modelling software and digital efficiencies;
Maintain your accreditation to a Professional Affiliation through Continued Professional Development (CPD) within that Professional Affiliation.
About you :
You will ideally possess 8 + year’s industry and / or consulting experience in New Zealand, however relevant international experience will also be recognised.
Your proven technical leadership together with a proven ability to build positive relationships both internally and externally will be highly regarded.
You will also come with well-developed project management and technical delivery skills together with a knowledge of regulatory and technical requirements and general principles of project development for major infrastructure in relation to environmental impact assessment and management.
You will possess well-developed communication, collaboration and negotiation skills coupled with a good commercial acumen and an interest in business development.
A degree or masters qualification in environmental science, environmental engineering or related field is required. Professional accreditations will also be highly regarded.
The role will require at times site visits and other travel so a full drivers licence will be required.
