The Policy Planner will be part of a team of planners leading the development and provision of Council's response to growth.
This is through the preparation of policy and delivering statutory planning processes under the RMA, especially plan changes to the operative City Plan and City Plan Review.
Key result areas for this role include (but are not limited to) a) planning research and monitoring, b) policy development and c) plan change process and legislative requirements.
To be successful in this position, the following skills, knowledge and experience are required :
A University degree in planning, or relevant practical experience, is essential. Local government sector experience in planning and / or policy development, and strong knowledge of legislative frameworks, especially the Resource Management Act 1991 and the Local Government Act 2002, is preferred.
