Exciting times are afoot with our communications team. With a new team manager and within a newly-formed hub, we’re seeking a dynamic and driven person to be play a key role in shaping how we engage and communicate with our community.

In this role, you’ll be integral in the development of a new engagement strategy and a key driver for innovative and quality engagement with the people of te Tairāwhiti.

Working alongside our creative, high-performing teams and external stakeholders, you’ll gain insight, create engaging content and develop tools and channels to provide our people with the right information at the right time.

You’ll be a proactive self-starter, able to turn your hand to assist the engagement manager to guide the team. Your prior experience, skillset and aspirations will play a part in how we shape the role to get the best outcomes for the organisation.

You’ll need :

  • A degree in Communication or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications, public relations or marketing, ideally in local government or a relatable environment;
  • Solid experience and understanding of working with Tangata Whenua;
  • An understanding of local government functions and planning cycles;
  • Sound knowledge of engagement strategies and implementation, communication streams, systems and tools;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
