Electrix is also one of NZ's foremost electrical construction and maintenance companies.

We seek the services of an experienced Power Systems Technician to join our Technical Services Team.

Key responsibilities for this position include :

  • Commitment to safety, quality and customer requirements
  • Produce and complete QA documentation and field procedures
  • HV Switching up to 110kV
  • Carry out planned, corrective and reactive maintenance in Zone Substations
  • LV and HV cable identification, fault locating and testing
  • Installation and testing of Zone Substation equipment
  • Ensure high voltage maintenance work is compliant to client quality specifications
  • Assist Coordinators and Managers with technical issues
  • Key skills required :

  • Experience in protection relay setting and testing
  • Experience in HV equipment testing and commissioning
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite
  • Technical problem-solving abilities
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support the operational needs
  • Qualifications / training required :

  • A tertiary electrical engineering qualification, degree or diploma level or equivalent is required.
  • This position is based in Albany. Attractive rates of pay are available commensurate with experience, together with superannuation and free medical insurance.

    Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
