Our city boasts everything you need for the ultimate work and lifestyle balance. If you want to be central, have access to lakes, sand, sea and forests, we have it all! Our client, Rotorua Childcare Centre, has a rare opportunity for a proven leader to take on the role of Centre Manager.

The Centre has well-established roots and a reputation for excellence. Rotorua Childcare Centre caters for children from birth, to school age and has been well appointed by the ERO.

With a strong commitment to the Centre's philosophy, children are at the heart of everything they do, which is testament to their strong following of families and low staff turnover.

With the support of a seven-strong Board, the Centre Manager will deliver not only the effective running of the Centre, but will feed the business acumen, leadership, operational skills, and strategic thinking to provide the highest professional standards to educate, nurture, and grow thriving children.

As a comprehensive role, the ideal candidate will have experience with a similar level of responsibility. Experience in the industry would be an advantage, however we will consider transferrable skills and experience.

Operatively, the Centre Manager runs a roll of around 60 children and a staff of 14. If you are the right person for this position, you will be able to successfully :

  • Operate under a governance structure, reporting to the Board
  • Handle all day-to-day operational requirements
  • Manage staff, with sound HR practices
  • Actively promote a culture of continual professional development
  • Control all aspects of legislative compliance
  • Oversee the delivery of a quality education programme
  • Communicate, with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage financial responsibility, from strategic decision-making through to daily processing of accounts
  • Direct and be responsible for health, safety and wellbeing for all children and staff
  • As an all-inclusive role, this does require a person who can effectively communicate and display a high-level of organisation and professionalism.
