As Cloud platforms become the mainstay of Enterprise computing, Deloitte’s Technology Consulting practice is focused on delivering tailored, innovative solutions for our clients, helping them to disrupt their industry, connect their business to customers, and make better decisions about themselves.

As a result, we’re looking to add key talent to Cloud and Innovation team in the form on a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to focus on delivering innovative solutions to our Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure customers throughout New Zealand.

What we are looking for from our AWS / Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer :

  • Work closely with Architects and colleagues to deliver requirements based on agreed design specifications.
  • Participate in client and stakeholder sessions to understand complex challenges and assist with proposing solutions to meet those needs.
  • Provide design input and then build and deployment using core CI / CD and / or DevOps processes.
  • Provide a high level of attention to system monitoring, patching and maintaining an optimized cloud platform for Managed Services customers.
  • Conduct technology proof of concepts and developing innovative solutions based on client needs.
  • Ability to think critically and solve business use cases to provide fit for purpose solutions.
  • Strong desire to learn new tools, processes and methodology across a variety of tools and technologies.
  • A self-starter with an ability to work independently and commitment to problem solving.
  • An active contribution to share and grow knowledge base in any technology discipline across wider Deloitte Consulting colleagues and external community groups.
  • You’re encouraged to upskill and gain certifications.

  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
  • Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with :

  • A background in an IT vendor, consulting or professional services organisation.
  • A sound understanding of DevOps principals and Agile frameworks.
  • Experience in the design, build and deployment of AWS / Azure Cloud platforms. Ideally AWS or Azure experience but open to Google Cloud backgrounds.
  • Certifications would be highly advantageous.

  • A high level of competency across virtualization, storage and networking.
  • Experience in either Linux (Amazon, RedHat, SUSE) OR Microsoft Windows (2008, 2012, 2016) Server environments.
  • Good exposure to Web Services, API, Rest or RPC protocols.
  • High level of understanding of disaster recovery, high availability, fail over and redundancy processes.
  • Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of modern software development / scripting techniques such as Java, .NET, Ruby, Python, JSON, YAML, and Powershell advantageous.
  • Experience in writing, deploying and managing CloudFormation stacks in AWS / Azure advantageous.
  • Experience in using cloud migration tools such as vConverter, CloudEndure, Platespin or Double-take advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with high attention to detail. Fluent English language (written and verbal) skills are a must.
  • Any other language skills will be a bonus.
