About the role

This is your opportunity to join our Information Services Software Engineering Team who are doing awesome things and making a real difference to education in New Zealand!

The role will involve close engagement with the Architecture team as you will need to ensure the development effort of the team aligns with the architectural principles and direction of NZQA.

Participating in quality assurance activities across our development practises. You will regularly engage with business stakeholders on new ideas, initiatives, and existing challenges.

Currently there are positions open for Senior Software be part of the transformation of one of the most important sectors in New Zealand.

Your workload will be a mix of project work, operational support, and scoping. The successful candidate will be comfortable at context switching as you will act as a technical lead to business stakeholders.

Skills and experience

We are looking for a self-motivated Lead Software Engineer with knowledge of the following technology stacks :

  • Core Java and Java enterprise (Must have solid proven experience)
  • Spring (SpringBoot and common libraries), Hibernate, JPA, XML, SQL
  • Web development and frameworks JSP, JavaScript (including common libraries), HTML / CSS
  • API / REST development and integration
  • Maven / Gradle, Jenkins, Git
  • AWS experience, Docker and API development on ECS / Lambda a big bonus
  • You also will need :

  • Experience in enterprise Java development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • To possess a strong desire to learn
  • The ability to multi-task and context-switch
