Reporting to the Planning & Integration Lead, Acute & Elective Specialist Services Cluster, we are seeking an experienced leader with a can-

do attitude for this newly created position.

  • Providing leadership and oversight to programmes and initiatives of change, quality improvement, integration and innovation across the cluster
  • Act as a key support to the Planning & Integration Lead, enabling them to successfully deliver service development initiatives and commissioning activities for the cluster
  • Lead and contribute to initiatives across the cluster that focus on growing and developing front-line clinical leadership, devolving decision-
  • making, actively supporting leadership capability improvements and enabling clinicians and teams within the cluster to make good decisions as close to the patient / client as possible

  • Engage as part of the Cluster Alliancing Group, building strong and effective partnerships and relationships with providers and other agencies relevant to the cluster’s population groups / pathways
  • To be considered appropriate for this role, you will be able to demonstrate :

  • A relevant clinical or health management tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of leading programmes of change, innovation and / or integration and delivering against set objectives
  • Ability to access and analyse varied and complex data and information from multiple and diverse sources, making sound, evidence-based judgements
  • Awareness of equity issues across the sector including, but not limited to Maori Health
  • A thorough understanding of the function of the cluster and their challenges
  • Possess advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • A solutions-focused approach, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise initiative and sound judgement with the ability to proactively scan the environment to gain insight and use intuition to identify opportunities and risk

    It is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures. It is less than two hours by road to the capital city, an international airport, the wine growing regions of Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa, and is surrounded by opportunities for sports and outdoor activities.

    General Information

    MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.

    Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000.

    In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.

    Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures.

    Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
