We are the national service for newborns diagnosed with congenital cardiac lesions during the antenatal period and neonates requiring paediatric subspecialty services.
Our focus is to ensure that the newborn and their whānau receive care that is reflective of their individual needs.The Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is now seeking a reliable Healthcare Assistant to join the team who has : A strong interest / passion for working within the paediatric fieldConfident communication skills and computer abilitiesThe required HCA qualification -
NZQA Level 3 / 4 equivalentAs a Healthcare Assistant within the unit your role involves; supporting clinical staff in caring for infants and whānau, maintaining general upkeep of the ward including parent accommodation, stocking clinical rooms, cleaning clinical items such as incubators and ventilators as well as the monitoring of stock and ordering via computer systems.
This is a non-clinical position, but you will be a key player to our clinical team in providing the support everyone needs.
There is no patient contact within this role, and full training / orientation will be provided.We welcome applications from those with : -

Week 1 involves a 5 day week with Friday and Saturday offWeek 2 you will work a 4 day week with Thursday to Saturday offTo be considered you must be able to work the above hours, including the Sunday shift from 7.
