    You’llbe joining Otago Regional Council at a critical time with a newly formedEnvironmental Implementation team, and ambitious goals to deliver on theground’ initiatives that will make a real difference and improve environmentaloutcomes.

    We work on behalf of communitiesacross Central Otago, Clutha, Waitaki, Queenstown Lakes and Dunedin. With significant central government ®ional funding for environmental projects, we’re recruiting two EnvironmentalProject Managers / Project Delivery Specialists.

    Project Delivery Specialist Jobs for Nature Programme : Lead the planningand delivery of projects funded through the Jobs for Nature Programme.

    Includes initiatives to protect high valuebiodiversity QEII covenants in Otago.

    ProjectDelivery Specialist Regional Programmes : Lead theplanning and delivery of regional programmes of work and specific projects torestore and enhance Otago’s freshwater quality and biodiversity.

    Includes the Good Water Programme.

    As aProject Delivery Specialist, you’ll :

  • Turn opportunities for environmental restoration andenhancement into programmes of action.
  • Select and lead project teams, enablingthem to perform at their best. Includes engaging and overseeing consultants andcontractors, and putting in place, administering contracts.
  • Define and tightly manage projectscope, schedule, budget, and risk with robust project reporting and financialoversight.
  • Submit funding applications andwork closely with funding agencies, keeping them informed of progress andperformance.
  • Hold a qualification in ProjectManagement or related to Environmental Management (eg., environmental science,ecology, geography, planning, environmental engineering).
  • Have 7+ years’ of relatedexperience including programme or project management.
  • Be highlyorganised, flexible and adaptable, and able to achieve results through others.
  • Applicants with experience of embedding mātauranga Māori andkaitiakitanga values and practices with respect to environment restoration arestrongly encouraged.
