This is a rare opportunity to join a unique organisation experiencing rapid growth and be part of their exciting journey.

You are only limited by your attitude, as the opportunities for development as the company grows, are endless.

To be successful in this environment you will need to be comfortable working in a fluid environment where external factors often impact, while at the same time you need to have an eye for detail and accuracy.

The organisation's objective is preserving our planet for future generations. This is achieved via the establishment and management of forests for carbon capture at significant scale.

Operating in a fast-paced and dynamic market where the underlying domestic regulations and international agreements are subject to ongoing change, results in a business environment where opportunities and risks are constantly changing.

The company itself has grown quickly to become one of the world's leading carbon solutions groups and as such is subsequently evolving to manage the considerable assets and expertise required to manage its portfolio.

The carbon market is still evolving, so much of the company's business is pioneering in nature. It involves solving problems in the simplest, most elegant manner possible and getting things done fast.

With challenging and demanding goals, priorities do change as opportunities come and go.

This is a new role driven by growth and the need to bring additional expertise to the team. The company brought their GIS system in house in 2018, appointed their first analyst in 2019, but are still working with an outside agency for support in managing this, however the time is now right to bring more of this expertise in house.

To be successful in this role you will bring :

  • a strong tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geography or GIS or closely related field with a focus on geo spatial applications
  • excellent database and data management skills
  • applied user of GIS systems
  • experience with ArcGIS / QGIS, SQL and R / Python
  • strong stakeholder management experience
  • exceptional analytical capability
  • advanced skills in Microsoft office including Excel
  • a willingness to take initiative, deal with issues never presented before
  • outstanding planning capability with a strong eye for detail along with the ability to be flexible when required.
  • Rarely do roles like this come to market, where you are part of something which is making a difference to the future while also having the opportunity to develop and grow.
