    Youth Mobile Mental Health Worker

    Stepping Stone Trust (SST) is a faith based organisation and the largest NGO Mental Health Service in Canterbury. SST operates Residential, Respite and Community Support services for Youth through to Older Persons for 500+ tangata whaiora / consumers each week.

  • Minimum qualification Level 4 certificate in Health & Wellbeing through to Human / Health Sciences Diploma / Degree
  • May suit Social Work Degree as a first step in work experience
  • Passionate about working with young people in the community
  • Experience in mental health work
  • Our Youth Mobile service is utilised by young people who need a high level of support to manage their mental illness. Young people under this service are seen a minimum of twice weekly and up to daily if needed, with support focussed on brief intervention, distress tolerance, behavioural activation, family liaison and assisting them meet their recovery goals.

    This team works closely alongside CDHB Specialist Mental Health Services.

    You will have experience working with young people, ideally in a professional, home-visiting context with families or individuals.

    This role requires excellent rapport building skills, creativity, comfort with independent work, time management and prioritisation skills.

    A full New Zealand driver's license is required as is computer literacy, attention to detail and the ability to work in an inter-

    agency collaborative setting. The team is highly professional, passionate and committed.

    This is a seven day a week service, with fixed fortnightly shift patterns. This role's shift pattern is comprised of :

  • Week 1 : Sunday 10 : 00 - 18 : 30
  • Week 2 : Monday 13 : 00 - 21 : 30, Saturday 10 : 00 - 18 : 30, Sunday 10 : 00 - 18 : 30
  • The pay scale is $43-53k ($20.50-$25.50 per hr) per annum for a 1.0 equivalent FTE role, in line with gender pay equity.
