Experienced GLP Lab TechnicianAbout the opportunityThis is your chance to become part of a fast growing commercial testing laboratory that provides information to Australasias food and environmental sectors We currently have a vacancy for a laboratory technician with 45 years experience however training would be offered to someone less experienced provided they had the right attitude and were enthusiastic to learn in a fastpaced environment We are looking for someone with a BSc Biochemistry Chemistry Biology degree and who will enjoy a dynamic environment with a broad range of duties where you are encouraged to reach your full potential Role descriptionLaboratory Technicians are primarily responsible for routine testing of samples and other regular tasks undertaken to ensure that the laboratory is functioning efficiently and well In addition they will help to develop and validate new methods write reports and maintain equipment They will be trained in laboratory techniques and testing methods and expected to apply that training reliably to provide results for customers The Laboratory Technician is required to follow GLP and ISO 17025 quality requirements help manage consumables operate equipment prepare standards and reagents and maintain the laboratory in a tidy and safe condition Responsibilities includeRoutine laboratory testing operations which will include the processing and grinding of samples such as animal tissues and plant products Prepare reagents and standardsQualitative and Quantitative analysisCompile laboratory test reportsMethod development validation R DGeneral Laboratory PracticesOperate Laboratory Information Management SystemsMaintain and calibrate laboratory measurement equipmentKeep the laboratory and environs clean tidy and safeKeep laboratory consumables in adequate supplyThis role will suit someone with the following background experience qualitiesGreat communication skills interpersonal skills and work ethicSelfmotivated works well with minimum supervision not afraid to ask for helpAble to multitask and well organized pays attention to detailWilling to learn and accept constructive criticismStrong commercial and customer focusRelevant science qualifications at a tertiary levelHas a relevant degree BSc Biochemistry Chemistry Biology Keen to learn and developConfident user of computers and softwareAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsExperience working in a quality environment is desirable but not necessary About the companyWe began developing innovative testing solutions in 2011 building on decades of prior experience in commercial testing research and science based business Today our strong team of over 120 technical and operational staff use world class equipment to deliver testing services that are faster better and cheaper than those available from other laboratories Our customer service is widely regarded as being the best in the industry We are ISO 17025 accredited by IANZ meaning that we are independently assessed to have skilled staff using robust testing methods to deliver results that clients trust What we will offerTraining and Career progressionCompetitive income Positive working environment To find out moreIf you are interested in finding out more about this role please apply below or see our website for more detail on who we are what we do and how we do and how we are helping the industries we are working in
