We are in the animal health business, partnering with our clients in the areas of Research and Development (R&D) and manufacturing to produce pharmaceuticals for both farm and companion animals.

We are currently looking for someone to lead our Microbiology Team reporting directly to the Head of Quality New Zealand, you will lead a team of 3 Microbiological Analysts.

This is a new role which will focus on meeting the service needs of the business for microbiological testing as well as become a key advisor to the wider business.

The key focus areas are to lead, develop and empower your team while working with other departments to ensure microbiological activities are completed in compliance with GMP and regulations.

We are looking for someone who can build strong working relationships and contribute to the advancement of Micro Services and be a leader in the quality culture change for the site.

You will have strong microbiological technical skills as well as strong leadership skills and experience within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.

Your key responsibilities will include :

Overall accountability for Argenta’s Microbiology laboratory performance ensuring the efficient delivery of; testing of starting materials, finished products, stability samples, validation samples, data review and investigations.

Lead the development of Argenta’s Microbiology systems, ensuring on time delivery of valid results to internal clients.

Develop, achieve and report on relevant KPI’s for the Microbiology function for the site

Demonstrate Subject Matter Expertise in all aspects of microbiology for the business, advising on best practice methods and standards, seeking process efficiencies and looking for ways to enhance microbiology knowledge across the site

Proactively seek out ways for the business to utilise inhouse microbiology capability

Grow, develop and support your analytical staff.

Demonstrate leadership on quality, compliance and HS&E culture.

Management of Microbiological laboratory budget.

Your background, experience and attributes will include :

Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Microbiology within a pharmaceutical environment

A minimum of 5 years working experience within a cGMP environment

Outstanding leadership skills

Advanced knowledge and experience in a cGMP Quality Environment

Strong commercial skills and acumen
