Airbus NZ Operations is well recognised as a leading Through-Life-Support provider, delivering Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO), manufacturing, modification and design services in military and commercial fixed wing and helicopter platforms.

Reporting to the Team Lead Aircraft Maintenance, the Maintenance Planner is part of a wider team which provides support to the Maintenance function.

The role works closely with Production Engineers, Planning Coordinators and staff within the specific work area to ensure on-time service deliverables to customers.

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for providing timely and accurate information to assist with the successful delivery of products and services to all customers.

The role supports production through planning and allocating work assignments, ensuring outputs and expectations are set and agreed to deliver to team, business and contract performance success.

The role prepares forecast requirements for resources and contributes to the overall business revenue forecast and delivers timely and accurate reporting to relevant stakeholders as required.

You can anticipate some of your day-to-day activities to include :

  • Review work in progress (WIP) data to ensure adherence to customer scope, schedule & budget. Act on any deviations from customer requirements
  • Accountable for WIP reporting overseeing opening of jobs, WIP, Closing and Costing
  • Develop & maintain servicing project plans / Gantt charts
  • Contribute to technical assessment of additional work & assess impact to scope, schedule and budget
  • Prepare work packages for customer jobs in advance
  • Record maintenance including logbook entries and updating log cards
  • Manage / maintain aircraft maintenance database including short and long term customer forecasts.
  • The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role would include :

  • Planning experience, preferably in engineering or aircraft engineering / maintenance organisations
  • Understanding of maintenance and engineering cost drivers and how to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g. DASR, CASA, EASA, CAANZ etc.)
