This large infrastructure company plays a vital role in the Hawkes Bay economy. Serving a wide customer base they deliver supply chain solutions that provide the region with a gateway to the world.

They are seeking an ambitious Finance professional who is passionate about developing best practice and providing commercial insight to support growth.

  • Reporting to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller is accountable for all internal and NZX financial reporting and for the development of the enterprise risk framework.

    Whilst core technical knowledge is a pre-requisite for this role, the Group Financial Controller will take a leading role in further development of a best practice Finance function.

    There are also exciting initiatives to be involved in including developing sustainability reporting, assisting with capital market transactions, and development of Finance systems.

    We are seeking candidates who can develop a trusted advisor relationship with the Senior Leadership Team, providing financial insight and using their commercial acumen to support strategic growth.

    Candidates are likely to have developed their career in a big 4 professional services firm and will have held senior Finance roles in leading organisations.

    The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes :

  • Ambition and leadership skills to develop people, processes and systems to support the highest levels of governance, reporting, and financial management
  • First-hand experience of the governance and reporting requirements of an NZX listed company
  • Advanced technical knowledge across external financial reporting and tax
  • Experience operating in a risk management best practice environment
  • Evidence of a coaching leadership style
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the gravitas to influence and engage broadly
  • Professionally qualified accountant with evidence of continuous professional development
