Public Trust is starting a relationship with a high-profile, highly complex new client and we are looking for someone to take the lead on this work on a six month fixed-term contract.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to take the lead on the development and implementation of reporting and monitoring processes for a high-profile, highly complex client.

This will require the collation of reports around the legal, commercial and financial structure of the group, as well as the design of key policies, procedures and protocols that will form the basis of future monitoring activity.

This will include working face to face with key stakeholders in Auckland and at the client's remotely located property. It may involve appearing in person in court however you won't be required to present directly in court.

There is likely to be considerable media interest in this work however controls will be in place to protect individual exposure.

Public Trust has 23 offices around the country, as well as the ability to work from home, so we are flexible on location.

We will also consider reduced work hours or a compressed work week for the right candidate.

This is a six-month fixed-term role, however there is the possibility of the work continuing beyond then.

Who we're looking for

Discretion, the ability to engage without judgement, excellent communication and stakeholder management, and a willingness to work on a highly sensitive engagement with considerable media exposure are key to this role. You will need :

  • Substantial experience in risk, audit and / or legal, ideally with knowledge and / or experience of some of : Accounting and auditProject managementGovernance
  • Experience working with high-profile clients in a sensitive environment
  • Assurance report writing, e.g. internal audit or consulting advisory
  • Risk and compliance experience (in house or via a service providing firm)
  • Policy and process design, drafting and implementation
  • An understanding of NZ legal and the public sector ecosystem around courts and law enforcement is helpful, as is knowledge of relevant framework fields including health and safety, whistleblowing, code of conduct, employment law, civil rights, etc.
  • The ability and willingness to travel within NZ regularly.
