Deliver a Best Practice District Plan

Working for the good of the community is a great feeling. Here at Hutt City Council we're underway with a major review of the District Plan.

Last year Council commenced a full review of the District Plan and we are currently researching, engaging and evaluating on the preparation of a new District Plan.

We want to put in place a best practice resource management framework to foster great places to live, enable businesses to thrive and protect our natural and cultural heritage values.

Updating the District Plan will also ensure it meets the requirements of the Resource Management Act, as well as other national, regional and local policy, including the National Planning Standards.

The District Plan review is complex, challenging and rewarding. In a growing city with strong demand for increased housing options, various natural hazard risks and significant heritage, cultural and natural areas, you'll be involved with a wide range of resource management questions and a wide range of competing answers.

The District Plan review sits in the context of a review of Council's overarching strategic direction and the development of a City-wide spatial plan.

The District Plan team will be closely involved in the strategy and spatial planning work to ensure the District Plan review is appropriately directed and informed.

If this sounds like the role for you we look forward to receiving your application.

Working at Hutt City Council offers a range of benefits, including a wellness program, subsided public transport and the opportunity develop your skills and knowledge with study programs.

We offer a great city to live and work in, with fantastic outdoor activities and locations to explore on our doorstep.
