There’s something great about living and working inMasterton. We can’t tell if it’s the Tararua Ranges that impress our view.

Maybe it’s the award-winning parks that provide acres of greenspace right inthe heart of town (or the life-style blocks just out of town)?

Maybe it’s thecommute, or should we say, lack of (no traffic lights here).

It’s like getting a double shot of coffee in the morningwhen you live here and when you work with Masterton District Council (MDC) tocreate and support the great space that is called Masterton.

Here at MDC we arelooking for a Project Manager.

The role includes, but is not limited to :

To deliver projects and contracts in anexemplarily manner meeting Council, community and stakeholder expectations interms of time, cost and quality.

To raise the capacity and capability of Councilto deliver projects in line with best practice methodology, that is also fitfor purpose.

To develop and maintain project managementdocumentation across the lifecycle of the project, including the development ofbusiness cases and other associated project initiation documentation (PID).

Report on all projects through the variousstages of planning, procurement and implementation.

Be Council’s project management subject matterexpert’ and provide project management support and advice to other departmentswithin Council as required by the Senior Leadership Team.

Some key skills and experiences we are looking forinclude :

Degree level tertiary qualification in an engineering,construction, project management or related field or at least 5 years’ provenproject management experience at intermediate level and 1-2 years at a seniorlevel.

Experienced with the successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects.

Knowledge and experience in business planningand project management.

Leadership experience building and developing ateam, with a strong coaching focus.

Demonstrated experience improving processes,systems and functions associated with programme delivery in line with bestpractice.

Proven experience in risk management.

A background in Utilities / Infrastructure(desirable).
