  • Come and join the Maintenance Team at Dunedin Hospital and use your skills as a Registered Electrician to make a difference to the health and well-being of our region.

    About the Role

    Reporting into the Electrical Supervisor, your role will be responsible for carrying out electrical duties for Dunedin and Wakari Hospitals.

    This will include working on new installations along with maintenance, repair and electrical testing of existing facilities.

    You will work alongside a friendly and supportive team of trades professionals and will be supported by a range of sub-contractors to ensure that the best possible service is provided throughout the hospital buildings.

    The role will be working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08 : 00 16 : 30 with overtime available as required. You will also be required to take part in an on-call 24 / 7 roster.

    Professional development and upkeep of your annual practicing licence and first aid certificate will be provided. There is scope for progression within the organisation, so if you are wanting to take the next step in your career, this role will provide you with a great base for achieving that goal.

    Building & Property Services are a medium sized, efficient, multi-disciplined team covering all trades across all of Southern DHB’s Southland & Otago sites.

    About You

    We are looking for an experienced Registered Electrician with a positive approach to their work and a passion for providing high quality and timely service.

    To be considered for this role you will need to :

  • Be a Registered Electrician
  • Hold a current Annual Practicing Licence
  • Hold a full drivers licence
  • Have experience working within a commercial environment
  • Controls experience
  • Be meticulous in your approach
  • Knowledge and understanding of Medical Installations (AS / NZS3003) standards would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Have excellent communication and the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Take pride in a job well done
  • The salary for this position is from $61,007 to $74,205 as per the DHBs / PSA AWU Maintenance Trades and Related Employees (Otago) Collective Agreement, Electrician scale, and will be allocated based on skills and experience.
