What we do

CommunicableDiseases Team is part of the wider Community and Public Health Team and isresponsible for investigating cases of infectious diseases, as well ascontrolling their spread within our community.

Their goal is to reduce futureoccurrences of infectious disease and work across diverse communities.

The Role : Where you fit in

Weare looking for a Registered Nurse with at least 3 to 5 years full time nursingexperience, including experience with tuberculosis and other communicablediseases, to join us in the Communicable Diseases Team at Community and PublicHealth.

The successful applicant will participate in all aspects of this work, includingour COVID-19 response.. Therefore it is imperative you are able to workindependently, have experience in working with people from diverse cultures andhave a strong interest and understanding of public health issues.

Skillsand Experience required :

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealandand have a current APC & 3-5 years nursing experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively withfamily / whanau, colleagues and other health providers.
  • Yourwarm and friendly approach and excellent interpersonal skills will shinethrough in this role, as will your ability to show your initiative and hit theground running.

    You will be a highly organised and adaptable individual takingpride in your professional approach to your work.
